Recently, Google has announced one of its Google Lab Projects called ‘Page Speed Online’ that analyzes the content of web site, and generates suggestions to make that pages of the site to load faster. Reducing page load times can reduce bounce rates and increase the conversion rates.

Now, you can log on to this Page Speed Online, and then just type in your website URL address, select the type of suggestion, either desktop or mobile and press on the ‘Analyze Performance’ button. Then the Google Page Speed Online will get back with some suggestions to improve your site speed.

Basically, there are 3 types of suggestions by Page Speed Online: High priority, Medium priority and Low priority. Below is the example of the suggestion for each priority:

  • High priority: Leverage browser caching (Enable browser caching, load previous resources from local disk rather than over the network.
  • Medium priority: Serve scaled images (The images that scaled in HTML and CSS
  • Low priority: Optimize images, minify HTML, minify CSS, avoid bad requests and etc
