Exceptional Web Design in China

China is one of the oldest civilizations in the world with over 1.3 billion people. It is the world’s fastest growing economy with an average growth rate of 10% for the past few decades, and now it was became the second largest trading nation after the United States.

Although the economy of China was second largest in the world, the internet industry in china is still young and under developing. Most of the Chinese websites were built by Flash Technology with colorful, flashy and highly interactive design to attract attention. It might be pretty at the first sight, but the information architecture might not be well planed and it might not search engine-friendly.

I don’t think Flash will be take over by HTML5, CSS and Javascript. And recently has a great news about Apple App Store open its door to Flash

I found most Chinese websites nicely done. They are beautiful to look at however they are not user-friendly when you surf the site, they always make you think, and everything is not obvious.

  I do agree with your opinion. Most chinese website are visual oriented than user experience oriented. Since China is developing very quickly on the economic, technologies and cultures, perhaps their web industry will transform and offer web user better surfing experience in the near future.
